| Jim Hooper Photography was born of a lifelong passion for capturing photographic images, combined with a love of cityscapes and a knowledge of the form and function of architecture, acquired during a successful career in Boston's commercial real estate business. In addition to photographing architecture and interiors for commercial use, Jim explores the medium as a fine art form. He is particularly interested in high dynamic range (HDR) imagery, both for its technical advantages and its novel aesthetic possibilities. After graduating from the Center for Digital Imaging Arts at Boston University in the professional digital photography program, Jim spent two semesters on staff as a Teaching Assistant. He has also studied at various workshops including Maine Media and John Paul Caponigro’s Studio. Jim's photographs range from faithful reproductions to startling images of the hyper-real, always viewed from his own unique perspective . His work has been featured on the cover of the Journal of Cognitive Neuroscience, The Boston Globe, the 2009 Danforth Museum Photography Biennial, Maine Boats, Homes & Harbors Magazine, and in numerous Brown University publications. In 2010, Jim and Brian Tetrault (one of Jim's most photographically talented and tech-savvy CDIA instructors) co-founded a photography studio specializing in architecture and interiors, as well as corporate portraiture.
